How To Create A Gallery Wall
You may have seen the beautiful walls filled with various artwork, perfectly curated and visually stunning. Gallery walls have been everywhere from Instagram and Pinterest to home decorating shows and magazines. Creating the perfect gallery wall can seem like a daunting task. It requires a number of different pieces of artwork, and it can be tough to choose the best art and placement for your wall. Today, I’m sharing the best way to create your own gallery wall by putting together some great art in an easy way!
1. Find The Perfect Artwork
The first step in creating your gallery wall is finding the perfect artwork for your home. I love mixing and matching different style of pieces, to help keep the eclectic look of a gallery wall. Obviously art prints and photos are great options, and are the classic choice for a gallery wall. However, I would recommend adding in some different textures and styles like word art signs and even sculpture style artwork to create a unique look. Be sure to vary the size of your artwork to help your gallery wall like perfectly curated. A helpful tip? You don’t need to get all of the artwork at once! If you purchase pieces slowly you will end up with artwork that you truly love!
2. Arrange Your Art
The biggest tip for ending up with a perfect gallery wall? Don’t go straight for the hammer and nails! By hanging your pieces blindly, you will end up with a gallery wall that looks uneven, lopsided or with a ton of holes in your wall! Start by laying out your pieces on the floor in the order and shape that you’d hang them on the wall. Be sure to measure the area, and arrange your artwork until you find the perfect spot for each piece of art!
3. Hang Carefully
This is the final piece of the puzzle - hanging your artwork! There are a few different ways to go about this, but one easy tip is to cut out paper in the shape of each art piece. You can then tape up the paper on the wall and ensure that you still like the placement of each art piece. Once everything is in the perfect place, you can one by one nail into the wall and hang the pieces up on the wall. Be sure to measure and level frequently to avoid any issues! When you’ve got everything hung up on the wall, take a step back and look at the total gallery wall! You’ve now got an amazing and visually stunning wall filled with incredible artwork that is sure to become the focal point of any room.
